{"id":59166,"date":"2025-08-12T12:38:23","date_gmt":"2025-08-12T07:08:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=59166"},"modified":"2025-08-12T13:36:31","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T08:06:31","slug":"khelo-india-asmita","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/khelo-india-asmita\/","title":{"rendered":"Khelo India ASMITA"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Khelo India ASMITA Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Khelo India ASMITA Football League 2025-26 was inaugurated by the Minister of State, Youth Affairs and Sports in Jalgaon, Maharashtra.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Khelo India ASMITA<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Achieving Sports Milestone by Inspiring Women (ASMITA)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is part of <\/span><b>Khelo India\u2019s gender-neutral mission<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to promote sports among women through leagues and competitions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an <\/span><b>affirmative action<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in sports for <\/span><b>increasing women\u2019s participation.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Objective:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Inclusive and grassroots-driven sports development.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Khelo India ASMITA league is a <\/span><b>core component of the &#8216;Khelo Bharat Niti,&#8217;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> promoting sports for nation-building and women&#8217;s empowerment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The league is a dedicated platform for young girls, addressing historical imbalances and creating new opportunities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As such, the <\/span><b>Sports Authority of India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SAI) supports <\/span><b>National Sports Federations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in conducting Khelo India women\u2019s leagues across multiple age groups at both zonal and national levels.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>started in 2021<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, ASMITA leagues not only aim to increase the participation of women in sports but also to <\/span><b>utilize the leagues as a platform<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the <\/span><b>identification of new talent<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> across the length and breadth of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This financial year 2025-26, 852 ASMITA leagues have been planned in <\/span><b>15 sports disciplines<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, targeting more than 70,000 women athletes in all States\/ UTs of the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Significance:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This initiative is changing the narrative around women in sports, helping them challenge stereotypes and become new role models.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nodal Ministry:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2154854\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PIB<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Khelo India ASMITA is part of Khelo India\u2019s gender-neutral mission to promote sports among women through leagues and competitions.
