{"id":59287,"date":"2025-08-13T12:35:16","date_gmt":"2025-08-13T07:05:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=59287"},"modified":"2025-08-13T17:25:25","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T11:55:25","slug":"state-health-regulatory-excellence-index","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/state-health-regulatory-excellence-index\/","title":{"rendered":"State Health Regulatory Excellence Index"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 dir=\"ltr\"><strong>State Health Regulatory Excellence Index Latest News<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Recently, the union health secretary virtually launched the State Health Regulatory Excellence Index (SHRESTH).<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\"><strong>About State Health Regulatory Excellence Index<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">It is a first-of-its-kind national initiative to <strong>benchmark and strengthen state drug regulatory systems<\/strong> through a transparent, data-driven framework.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The initiative, proposed by the<strong> Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO)<\/strong> aims to drive improvements in the performance of state drug regulatory authorities across India, ensuring drug safety and quality standards are consistently met.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">It will have <strong>27 indices for Manufacturing States across five key themes<\/strong>: Human Resources, Infrastructure, Licensing Activities, Surveillance Activities and Responsiveness and 23 indices for Primarily Distribution States.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">States will submit the data on predefined metrics to CDSCO which<strong> will be collected by 25th of every month<\/strong> and these metrics will be scored on the 1st of next month and shared with all states and UTs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">SHRESTH is a virtual gap assessment tool for states to assess their current position and help towards maturity certification<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" aria-level=\"1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><strong>Significance:<\/strong> This Index will enable targeted improvements in human resources, infrastructure, and digitization across states, ensuring drug safety is guaranteed for every Indian, regardless of geography.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Source:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2155722#:~:text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>State Health Regulatory Excellence Index is a first-of-its-kind national initiative to benchmark and strengthen state drug regulatory systems through a transparent, data-driven framework.
