{"id":59329,"date":"2025-08-13T15:02:44","date_gmt":"2025-08-13T09:32:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=59329"},"modified":"2025-08-13T17:26:26","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T11:56:26","slug":"tato-ii-hydroelectric-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/tato-ii-hydroelectric-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Tato-II Hydroelectric Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Tato-II Hydroelectric Project Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) recently approved an investment proposal worth \u20b98,146.21 crore for the construction of the 700 MW Tato-II Hydro Electric Project (HEP) in Shi Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Tato-II Hydroelectric Project<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>700 MW<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> hydro power project planned on<\/span><b> Siyom river\/basin in Arunachal Pradesh.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>run-of-river project<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 56 million cubic meters.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project consists of 4 turbines, each with 175MW nameplate capacity.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is expected to generate 2,738.06 million units of energy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Power generated from the project will help <\/span><b>improve the power supply position in <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the state of<\/span><b> Arunachal Pradesh a<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nd will also <\/span><b>help in balancing the national grid.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Arunachal Pradesh will receive 12% free power <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and an additional <\/span><b>1% for the Local Area Development Fund (LADF).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project will be implemented through a<\/span><b> joint venture between North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd (NEEPCO) and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project will cost Rs 8,146.21 crore.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/business\/india-business\/hydro-mega-project-govt-approves-rs-8000-crore-tato-ii-project-in-arunachal-to-bring-12-free-power-and-major-local-development\/articleshow\/123258466.cms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TOI<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tato-II Hydroelectric Project is a 700 MW hydro power project planned on Siyom river\/basin in Arunachal Pradesh.
