{"id":59611,"date":"2025-08-16T12:32:23","date_gmt":"2025-08-16T07:02:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=59611"},"modified":"2025-08-16T13:28:27","modified_gmt":"2025-08-16T07:58:27","slug":"exercise-slinex","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/exercise-slinex\/","title":{"rendered":"Exercise SLINEX"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Exercise SLINEX Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indian Naval Ships INS Rana and INS Jyoti\u00a0 participated in the 12th edition of Sri Lanka and India Naval Exercise (SLINEX-25).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Exercise SLINEX<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>bilateral naval exercise<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> between India and Sri Lanka, which was <\/span><b>conceptualised in 2005.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has <\/span><b>strengthened maritime cooperation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> between the nations over two decades.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Aim:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It aims at <\/span><b>enhancing interoperability, maritime cooperation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and exchanging best practices while jointly undertaking multi-faceted maritime operations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The previous edition of SLINEX was <\/span><b>conducted at Visakhapatnam<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, India\u00a0 in 2024.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The exercise will be conducted in two phases \u2013 the Harbour phase followed by Sea phase<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the harbour phase, professional interactions, <\/span><b>Subject Matter Expert Exchange<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(SMEE), sharing of best practices, cultural &amp; social exchanges along with yoga sessions and sporting events are planned.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The naval drills planned during the sea phase include gunnery firing serials, communication protocols, navigation, seamanship evolutions, <\/span><b>Visit Board Search and Seizure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (VBSS) and fueling at sea.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Significance:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The SLINEX maritime exercise exemplifies the deep engagement between India and Sri Lanka, which has strengthened cooperation in the maritime domain in consonance with India\u2019s policy of <\/span><b>Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions MAHASAGAR.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2156920\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PIB<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Exercise SLINEX is a bilateral naval exercise between India and Sri Lanka, which was conceptualised in 2005.
