text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a complex and challenging<\/span><b> brain disorder.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the<\/span><b> second most common type of dementia after <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-is-alzheimers-disease\/#:~:text=About%20Alzheimer's%20Disease-,Alzheimer's%20disease%20is%20a%20brain%20disorder%20that%20slowly%20destroys%20memory,to%20interfere%20with%20daily%20life.\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Alzheimer&#8217;s disease.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LBD is a disease associated with <\/span><b>abnormal deposits of a protein called alpha-synuclein in the brain.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These deposits,<\/span><b> called Lewy bodies,<\/b> <b>affect chemicals in the brain.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These changes, in turn, can lead to<\/span><b> problems with thinking, movement, behavior, mood, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and other <\/span><b>body functions.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are <\/span><b>two forms of LBD<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that cause cognitive symptoms \u2014 <\/span><b>dementia with Lewy bodies and Parkinson&#8217;s disease dementia.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LBD\u00a0 causes a <\/span><b>decline in mental abilities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that gradually <\/span><b>gets worse over time.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LBD <\/span><b>typically begins at age 50 or older<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, although sometimes younger people may have it.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LBD appears to <\/span><b>affect slightly more men than women.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The disease<\/span><b> lasts an average of five to seven years<\/b> <b>from the time of diagnosis to death, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">but it can range from two to 20 years.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People with LBD might see things that aren&#8217;t there, known as <\/span><b>visual hallucinations.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They also may have<\/span><b> changes in alertness and attention.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People with LBD commonly have <\/span><b>symptoms of <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-is-parkinsons-disease\/\" target=\"_blank\">Parkinson&#8217;s disease<\/a>.\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These symptoms might include rigid muscles, slow movement, trouble walking and tremors.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the disease worsens, people with LBD require more and more help with daily activities due to a decline in thinking and movement abilities.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>In the later stages <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the disease, people may <\/span><b>depend entirely on others for assistance <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and care.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Treatment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s <\/span><b>no cure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for Lewy body dementia and <\/span><b>no way to prevent it.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
