{"id":59717,"date":"2025-08-17T16:55:51","date_gmt":"2025-08-17T11:25:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=59717"},"modified":"2025-08-18T21:52:25","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T16:22:25","slug":"sarvottam-yudh-seva-medal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/sarvottam-yudh-seva-medal\/","title":{"rendered":"Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, on the eve of the 79th Independence Day, the President of India awarded seven Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medals (SYSM) to the leaders of Operation Sindoor.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>instituted on 26 Jun 1980<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to recognize the distinguished service of the most exceptional order during <\/span><b>war\/conflict\/hostilities.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Personnel Eligible:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 <\/span><b>All ranks of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> including those of <\/span><b>Territorial Army Units<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Auxiliary and Reserve Forces and other lawfully constituted Armed Forces when embodied.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>And also Nursing officers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and other members of the Nursing Services in the Armed Forces.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The medal <\/span><b>may be awarded posthumously.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Medal:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Circular in shape, 35 mm in diameter and fitted to a plain horizontal bar with standard fittings. The medal shall be of gold gilt.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The medal shall have on its obverse the State Emblem and the inscriptions <\/span><b>&#8220;SARVOTTAM YUDH SEVA MEDAL&#8221;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (in English).
