text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a river in northwestern <\/span><b>India <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and northeastern <\/span><b>Pakistan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is one of the <\/span><b>five tributaries of the Indus River that give Punjab<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (meaning \u201cFive Rivers\u201d) <\/span><b>its name.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Course<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>originates <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from the northern face of <\/span><b>Rohtang Pass<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in <\/span><b>Himachal Pradesh <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and flows through the junction formed by the <\/span><b>BaraBang-Dhauladhar range <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the Himalayas as two channels, namely Budhil and Tantgari.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After joining, it <\/span><b>flows through Himachal Pradesh, mainly the Chamba district<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where it receives many tributaries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From there, it <\/span><b>flows southwards<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through India, <\/span><b>crossing through Punjab before crossing into Pakistan,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where it finally <\/span><b>merges with the Chenab <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">River, a major tributary of the Indus River.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>720 km<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> long.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>length <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of Ravi River <\/span><b>in India is 320<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> km and has a catchment area of 14,442 sq.km<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>hydrology <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the Ravi is <\/span><b>controlled by spring snowmelt<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><b>South Asian monsoon<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that brings heavy rains from June to September.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has several <\/span><b>tributaries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including the <\/span><b>Siul, Baira, and Ujh rivers.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ravi River has <\/span><b>several dams<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, primarily for hydropower generation and irrigation.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The major ones include the <\/span><b>Ranjit Sagar Dam<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (also known as <\/span><b>Thein Dam) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and the <\/span><b>Chamera Dam complex<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Chamera I, II, and III).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
