{"id":60014,"date":"2025-08-19T12:43:31","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T07:13:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=60014"},"modified":"2025-08-19T12:43:31","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T07:13:31","slug":"sakura-science-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/sakura-science-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"Sakura Science Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Sakura Science Programme<\/b> <b>Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A group of thirty-four students from government schools in India are set to visit Japan under the Sakura Science Programme 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Sakura Science Programme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the prestigious <\/span><b>Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Science\u2014better known as the Sakura Science Programme.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>launched globally in 2014<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, aims to expand scientific curiosity amongst youth and encourage international collaboration.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>India joined<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the Sakura Programme <\/span><b>in 2016.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is implemented by the <\/span><b>Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative offers young learners a chance to explore <\/span><b>cutting-edge science and immerse themselves in Japanese culture.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this programme, students are invited for short-term visits to Japan, providing them with the opportunity to experience Japan\u2019s cutting-edge science and technology as well as its rich culture.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the upcoming Sakura Programme 2025, JST has invited participants from six other countries <\/span><b>Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Zambia.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Sakura Science Program&#8217;s Objectives Include<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To support the <\/span><b>development of talented human resources<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from overseas who have the potential to contribute to innovation in science and technology.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To accelerate international brain circulation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span><b>promote continuous collaboration<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, cooperation and interaction between Japanese educational and research institutes and those overseas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To strengthen good relationships between Japan and other countries and regions that can encourage diplomacy in science and technology.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiatoday.in\/education-today\/news\/story\/sakura-programme-2025-to-host-34-indian-government-school-students-in-japan-2772701-2025-08-18\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India Today<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sakura Science Programme is the prestigious Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science\u2014better known as the Sakura Science Programme.
