text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scientific Name: Loxodon macrorhinus<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Named for its <\/span><b>distinctive, slit-like eyes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014thought to <\/span><b>enhance vision in low-light conditions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014the sliteye shark is well <\/span><b>adapted to deeper, dimly lit environments as well as clear and shallow waters.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>small <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">shark with a very <\/span><b>slender body, a long narrow face,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> large eyes, and short furrows at the corners of the mouth.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It can reach a length of about <\/span><b>95 cm.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>teeth are small<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with a protruding tip and smooth edges.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ridge between the dorsal fins is absent or rudimentary.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>coloration <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the Sliteye shark is <\/span><b>gray<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>belly is white<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the edges of the fins are pale (transparent when alive).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
