{"id":60222,"date":"2025-08-20T13:07:24","date_gmt":"2025-08-20T07:37:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=60222"},"modified":"2025-08-20T13:29:41","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T07:59:41","slug":"mines-and-minerals-development-and-regulation-amendment-bill-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/mines-and-minerals-development-and-regulation-amendment-bill-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2025 Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Rajya Sabha cleared the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill recently, even as the Opposition members walked out.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2025<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The bill will <\/span><b>amend the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Bill <\/span><b>provides that leaseholders may apply to the state government for adding other minerals to an existing lease.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>For inclusion of critical and strategic minerals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and other specified minerals, <\/span><b>no additional amount<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> needs to be paid.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>These include minerals such as lithium, graphite, nickel, cobalt, gold,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>silver<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Act establishes the National Mineral Exploration Trust to fund mineral exploration<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the country.
