Enforcement Task Force (ETF) of the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) was held.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Commission for Air Quality Management<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>statutory body<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> established under the Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region (NCR) and Adjoining Areas, <\/span><b>Act 2021.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Mandate:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Better coordination, research, identification, and resolution of problems surrounding the air quality index and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It undertakes action for the prevention and <\/span><b>control of Air pollution in Delhi-NCR &amp; Adjoining Areas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is required to coordinate its actions on monitoring of air quality with the government of Delhi and the adjoining states, which includes Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Powers<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Restricting activities influencing air quality<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Investigating and conducting research<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> related to environmental pollution impacting air quality, preparing codes and guidelines to prevent and control air pollution,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Issuing directions on matters<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> including inspections, which will be binding on the concerned person or authority?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All the directions and orders by the <\/span><b>Commission are of binding nature<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and any person, officer, or authority shall be bound to comply with the same.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The commission is <\/span><b>directly accountable to the parliament.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Composition<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Chairperson:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To be chaired by a government official of the rank of <\/span><b>Secretary or Chief Secretary.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> He will hold the post for <\/span><b>three years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or until s\/he attains the <\/span><b>age of 70 years.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will also have <\/span><b>five ex officio members<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who are either <\/span><b>Chief Secretaries or Secretaries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in charge of the department dealing with environment protection in the States of <\/span><b>Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Three full time technical members.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Three members from non-government organisations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Technical members from <\/span><b>Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Indian Space Research Organisation, and NITI Aayog.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>\u00a0Source: <\/b><strong><a
