


{"id":60682,"date":"2025-08-25T13:43:48","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T08:13:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=60682"},"modified":"2025-08-26T11:04:28","modified_gmt":"2025-08-26T05:34:28","slug":"vithalbhai-patel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/vithalbhai-patel\/","title":{"rendered":"Vithalbhai Patel"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Vithalbhai Patel Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Delhi Legislative Assembly held a two-day conference on \u2018Vithalbhai Patel: His Role in Shaping India&#8217;s Constitution and Legislative Institutions\u2019 in New Delhi recently.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Vithalbhai Patel<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vithalbhai Patel, born on 27 September <\/span><b>1873<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, was an <\/span><b>Indian legislator <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and p<\/span><b>olitical leader<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>co-founder of the Swaraj Party, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>elder brother of Sardar Patel.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Much before Vallabhbhai Patel could enter politics, Vithalbhai got into the political world and became a prominent name in the Indian independence movement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite <\/span><b>not being completely in sync with Mahatma Gandhi&#8217;s philosophy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and practices, Vithalbhai<\/span><b> joined Congress<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and began his struggle for India&#8217;s independence.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He managed to <\/span><b>win a seat in the Bombay Legislative Council <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with the help of a band of supporters.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>After <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the incident of <\/span><b>Chauri Chaura and the end of the Non-cooperation Movement in 1922<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Vithalbhai <\/span><b>left Congress<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>established <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">his own party called <\/span><b>Swaraj Party,<\/b> <b>along with Chittaranjan Das and Motilal Nehru.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The basic <\/span><b>aim <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the party was to <\/span><b>enter the councils<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and abolish the government run by the British.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He became popular amongst the masses through his oratorical and witty speeches.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thereafter, he was <\/span><b>elected to the Central Legislative Assembly<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in <\/span><b>1923 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and later in <\/span><b>1925, became the Assembly&#8217;s president.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He was the<\/span><b> first Indian <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to hold the <\/span><b>post of the President\/Speaker of the Central Legislative Assembly.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vithalbhai Patel <\/span><b>drew the attention of the world<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> towards the importance and need of India\u2019s freedom.
