Industrial Property (INPI), Brazil and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India have entered into a cooperation arrangement on access to the Traditional Knowledge Digital Library.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Traditional Knowledge Digital Library<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a unique <\/span><b>initiative, established in 2001<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by the Government of India through collaboration <\/span><b>between CSIR and the Ministry of AYUSH.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Objective:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Its primary objective is to <\/span><b>prevent the erroneous grant of patents<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on <\/span><b>Indian traditional knowledge<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and to safeguard the country\u2019s knowledge heritage from misappropriation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of Traditional Knowledge Digital Library<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It currently contains information on over <\/span><b>5.2 lakh formulations and practices<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> drawn from Indian systems of medicine such as <\/span><b>Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Sowa Rigpa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, as well as Yoga, sourced from authoritative traditional texts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this, knowledge from multiple languages and disciplines is <\/span><b>translated, structured and linked <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with modern scientific and technical terminology.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Languages: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The database is available in <\/span><b>five international languages<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014English, German, French, Japanese and Spanish.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To this platform, access is provided to patent offices through <\/span><b>Non-Disclosure Agreements.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the inclusion of INPI, Brazil, the number <\/span><b>of patent offices worldwide<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with access to the TKDL <\/span><b>rises to eighteen.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The TKDL is widely regarded as a global benchmark for the defensive
