Dairying.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Matsya Shakti Project<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is designed to empower <\/span><b>minority fishing communities.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aims to equip participants with <\/span><b>comprehensive skills<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for improved livelihoods and community welfare.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative will be implemented by the Vizhinjam Regional Centre of the ICAR\u2013Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers\u2019 Welfare.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>conceived under the Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (PM VIKAS) scheme.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of Matsya Shakti Project<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project seeks to enhance the socio-economic well-being of minority fisherfolk families in the district.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It promises a year-long, <\/span><b>phased training programme for members of the community,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> focusing on sustainable livelihood practices and modern skill development.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Through hands-on training in areas such as <\/span><b>integrated aquaculture, seed production<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and advanced fisheries technologies.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Key Facts about Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) scheme\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PM VIKAS Scheme launched under the <\/span><b>Ministry of Minority Affairs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a central sector scheme.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It provides <\/span><b>skill development, leadership training and entrepreneurship<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to minorities and artisan communities all over India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme is divided into four components and is expected to benefit around 9 lakh candidates <\/span><b>during the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/15th-finance-commission\/\" target=\"_blank\">15th Finance Commission<\/a> Cycle (2025-26).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PM VIKAS Scheme also consolidates five already existing schemes: <\/span><b>Seekho aur Kamao, USTTAD (Upgrading the Skills and Training in Traditional Arts\/Crafts for Development), Hamari Dharohar, Nai Roshni Nai Manzil\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The merging of the scheme provides financial support to minorities and artisans while also integrating Skill India Mission and also working with other ministries like Women and Child Development, Panchayati Raj, Tourism and Education for the overall development in minority concentrated areas.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2161221#:~:text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PIB<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Matsya Shakti Project empowers minority fishing communities with skills, resources, and sustainable practices to boost livelihood and social inclusion Read more about Matsya Shakti Project, Features &#038;
