He last attended the Annual Summit in 2018, though he visited Japan for multilateral events like the G20 Osaka (2019) and G7 Hiroshima (2023).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From Japan, the Prime Minister will travel to China for the Heads of State Council meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Declaration on Security Cooperation (2008),\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MoU on Defence Cooperation and Exchanges (2014),\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Information Protection Agreement (2015), and\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li (2024).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regular joint exercises include <\/span><b>Malabar, Milan, JIMEX, Dharma Guardian, and Coast Guard cooperation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with 2024-25 witnessing the participation of service chiefs from both countries.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dialogue mechanisms such as <\/span><b>Defence Ministers\u2019 meetings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Joint Service Staff Talks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have consolidated trust.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both sides are considering an upgrade to the 2008 framework in light of the evolving security environment.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Trade and Investment<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bilateral trade <\/span><b>reached $22.8 billion in 2023-24<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and $21 billion in Apr\u2013Jan 2024-25.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India mainly exports chemicals, vehicles, aluminium, seafood, while imports from Japan include machinery, steel, copper, and reactors.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Japan is India\u2019s 5th-largest FDI source<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with cumulative investment of $43.2 billion up to Dec 2024.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Around 1,400 Japanese
