Development Authority (APEDA) launched its new initiative BHARATI.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About BHARATI initiative<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BHARATI, stands for <\/span><b>Bharat\u2019s Hub for Agritech, Resilience, Advancement and Incubation for Export Enablement<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been designed to <\/span><b>empower 100 agri-food and agri-tech startups<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, accelerate their journey, promote innovation and create new export <\/span><b>opportunities for young entrepreneurs.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is conceived as <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/agricultural-and-processed-food-products-export-development-authority-apeda\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>APEDA<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s vision to <\/span><b>achieve $50 billion in agri-food exports<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for its Scheduled Products by 2030,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is structured to complement and enhance industry and <\/span><b>government-led incubation programme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s in the <\/span><b>agriculture, food and food processing sectors<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It seeks to drive innovation in high-value categories such as <\/span><b>GI-tagged agri-products<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>organic foods, superfoods,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> novel processed Indian agri-foods, livestock products and AYUSH products.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative also aims to attract startups working on advanced technologies such as AI-based quality control, <\/span><b>blockchain-enabled traceability<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>IoT-enabled cold chains<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and agri-fintech, while addressing critical areas like innovative packaging, sustainability and sea protocols.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BHARATI seeks to <\/span><b>resolve export challenges<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> related to product development, value addition, quality assurance, perishability, wastage and logistics.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By fostering a collaborative ecosystem, the programme will connect agri-food innovators, tech-driven solution providers and <\/span><b>SPS-TBT-focused startups to deliver scalable<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, cost-effective solutions that enhance India\u2019s global competitiveness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will create <\/span><b>globally competitive agri-products,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> fuel demand-driven backward integration for food innovation and boost global demand for Indian food, beverage and processed food products and services.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative includes a <\/span><b>nationwide awareness campaign<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to engage stakeholders and attract solution-oriented startups from across India, along with an application and selection process through the APEDA website to <\/span><b>shortlist 100 startups<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the export enablement programme.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Selected startups will undergo a <\/span><b>three-month acceleration programme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> focusing on product development, export readiness, regulatory compliance, market access and collaborative solutions to address export challenges.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To strengthen this ecosystem, APEDA <\/span><b>will partner with state agricultural boards<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, agricultural universities, <\/span><b>premier institutions like IITs and NITs,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> industry bodies and existing accelerators to attract startups for agri-export enablement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The pilot cohort will serve as a model for a scalable annual incubation programme, driving continuous innovation and long-term export growth.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Significance:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The initiative marks a significant step to strengthen
