


{"id":61983,"date":"2025-09-04T15:07:39","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T09:37:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=61983"},"modified":"2025-09-04T15:07:39","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T09:37:39","slug":"karma-puja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/karma-puja\/","title":{"rendered":"Karma Puja"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Karma Puja Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Prime Minister of India wished all fellow countrymen, especially the tribal community on the occasion of Karma Puja.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Karma Puja<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is also <\/span><b>called Karam and Karam Parab <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; is one of the most <\/span><b>important tribal festivals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is related to the<\/span><b> harvest<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a <\/span><b>tribute to the Karam tree.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Karam tree symbolises fertility, prosperity and everything that is auspicious).<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is celebrated primarily in <\/span><b>Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and Assam.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is popular especially among the <\/span><b>Munda, Ho, Oraon, Baiga, Kharia, and Santhal peoples<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is traditionally celebrated on the <\/span><b>Ekadashi tithi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (eleventh day) which corresponds to <\/span><b>August-September<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the <\/span><b>Gregorian calendar.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b style=\"font-size: inherit;\">How is it celebrated?<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">About a week prior to the festival, young women bring clear sand from the river and <\/span><b>sow seven types of grains.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><b>Karam tree branch<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is planted in the courtyard or &#8216;akhra&#8217; on the festival day.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Devotees come with jawa (hibiscus) flowers, and the pahan (priest) worships the Karam Raja.
