


{"id":62769,"date":"2025-09-10T13:55:31","date_gmt":"2025-09-10T08:25:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=62769"},"modified":"2025-09-11T14:57:38","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T09:27:38","slug":"employees-state-insurance-corporation-esic-initiatives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/employees-state-insurance-corporation-esic-initiatives\/","title":{"rendered":"Employees\u2019 State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Initiatives"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Employees\u2019 State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Initiatives<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a significant step towards strengthening the social security framework and simplifying compliance for industries, the Employees\u2019 State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) recently launched two major initiatives \u2014 SPREE-2025 and the AMNESTY Scheme-2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About SPREE-2025<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The SPREE-2025 (<\/span><b>Scheme for Promoting Registration of Employers and Employees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) will remain <\/span><b>operational till 31st December 2025.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this scheme, <\/span><b>industries and employees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who are <\/span><b>not yet associated with ESIC can register through<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><b>ESI Portal, Shram Suvidha Portal, and Company Affairs Portal without the demand of old dues.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Employers registering <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">under SPREE-2025 <\/span><b>will be considered covered from the date of their registration<\/b> <b>or the date declared by them,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>newly registered employees will start receiving ESI health and social security benefits from the date of registration <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">itself.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>focus <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of this scheme is <\/span><b>on voluntary compliance rather than punitive measures,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as it seeks to reduce litigation, encourage formal registration, and foster a climate of mutual trust and cooperation between employers and employees.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>AMNESTY Scheme-2025<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will be in <\/span><b>effect from 1st October 2025 to 30th September 2026.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This <\/span><b>one-time dispute resolution initiative<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has been designed to <\/span><b>settle issues related to damages, interest, and coverage under the ESI Act.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme seeks to <\/span><b>provide employers with an opportunity to resolve pending disputes <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and strengthen compliance, thereby<\/span><b> reducing the number of lawsuits<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and ensuring the smooth delivery of social security benefits to employees.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the scheme, the <\/span><b>regional directors<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have been <\/span><b>empowered to withdraw cases where contributions and interest have been paid<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and a<\/span><b>lso to withdraw cases filed against insured persons over five years ago where no notices were issued. <\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b style=\"font-size: inherit;\">For the first time,<\/b> <b style=\"font-size: inherit;\">disputes along with cases involving damages and interest regarding coverage are included.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2164974\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PIB<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Under the SPREE-2025 scheme, industries and employees who are not yet associated with ESIC can register through the ESI Portal, Shram Suvidha Portal, and Company Affairs Portal without the demand of old dues.
