Situation Assessment Survey"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>All India Debt and Investment Survey (AIDIS) &amp; Situation Assessment Survey Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The All India Debt and Investment Survey (AIDIS) and the Situation Assessment Survey (SAS) of Agricultural Households are scheduled to be conducted from July 2026 to June 2027.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About All India Debt and Investment Survey (AIDIS)<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The AIDIS is one of India\u2019s most significant surveys on <\/span><b>household finance.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Previous AIDIS Surveys<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its origins go back to the <\/span><b>All India Rural Credit Survey<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (1951-52), later expanded to cover both debt and investment in 1961-62.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since then, the NSO has conducted AIDIS <\/span><b>roughly once every decade<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, most recently in the 77th Round (2019) at the request of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The survey provides critical data on <\/span><b>household indebtedness<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>asset ownership across<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> both <\/span><b>rural and urban areas.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Significance of the Survey:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Its findings are instrumental in <\/span><b>shaping national accounts, assessing inequality in asset distribution<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, understanding credit markets, and informing policies of the RBI, MoSPI, and other government institutions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is conducted by the <\/span><b>National Statistics Office<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NSO), under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>About Situation Assessment Survey (SAS) of Agricultural Households<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The SAS of Agricultural Households, first <\/span><b>launched in 2003.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is designed to assess the <\/span><b>economic conditions of farming communities.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was expanded in 2013 to <\/span><b>cover all agricultural households<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and further strengthened in the 2019 round.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It now provides comprehensive insights into <\/span><b>the livelihoods of agricultural households<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The survey covers Household income and expenditure<\/span><b>, Indebtedness and access to credit<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Land and livestock ownership, Crop and livestock production, and use of technology and Access to government schemes and crop insurance. <\/span><b>Farming practices<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Significance of Survey:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, NITI Aayog, researchers, and financial institutions utilise the survey findings to shape policies and programmes aimed at agriculture and rural development.<\/span><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2165638#:~:text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PIB<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All India Debt and Investment Survey (AIDIS) &#038;
