text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>large-calibre gun system<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with the capability to program and <\/span><b>fire future Long Range Guided Munitions (LRGM) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to achieve precision and deep strike.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been indigenously<\/span><b> designed and developed by <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the <\/span><b>Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE), <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the <\/span><b>Pune-based laboratory of<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the Defence Research and Development Organisation<\/span><b> (DRDO).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>production partners <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of these ATAGS are two <\/span><b>private sector companies\u2013Pune-based Bharat Forge and Tata Advanced Systems.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>will replace the vintage and smaller-calibre guns<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and enhance the artillery capabilities of the Indian Army.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System <\/b><b>Features<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This 155 mm, 52-calibre gun system boasts an impressive <\/span><b>range of over 40 km,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> placing it<\/span><b> among the longest-range towed artillery systems<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> globally.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The gun <\/span><b>can fire all types of 155 mm ammunition,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> including<\/span><b> high-explosive, precision-guided, smoke,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and illumination shells.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It boasts an <\/span><b>enhanced firing rate<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of five rounds per minute and can sustain 60 rounds per hour.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also has the <\/span><b>shoot-and-scoot capability <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and is also the <\/span><b>first of its kind <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gun which is capable of <\/span><b>achieving the shortest minimum range at a high angle.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The gun is <\/span><b>towed by a 6\u00d76 platform<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, providing excellent mobility across varied terrains.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its <\/span><b>all-electric drive system <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ensures higher reliability and <\/span><b>reduces wear and tear compared<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to traditional hydraulic systems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
