text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike combat missiles, STAR <\/span><b>doesn\u2019t aim to destroy enemy targets<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014instead, it <\/span><b>mimics the enemy, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">helping our forces <\/span><b>practice interception in real-time.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The STAR missile is engineered to <\/span><b>simulate the behavior of modern supersonic anti-ship missiles and cruise missiles.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To serve different combat needs, DRDO is developing STAR in <\/span><b>two variants:\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Air-Launched STAR:<\/b> <b>Carried by fighters<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> like the LCA Tejas, it <\/span><b>simulates air-to-air and air-to-ground strikes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including Anti-Radiation and Anti-AWACS roles.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Ground-Launched STAR: Truck-mounted and mobile,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> this version can be deployed from shorelines or remote zones without expensive infrastructure, making it highly versatile for Navy and Army drills.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>STAR Missile <\/b><b>Features<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the heart of STAR is a <\/span><b>two-stage propulsion <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">system:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Solid booster rocket for quick lift-off\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Liquid Fuel Ramjet (LFRJ)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for sustained supersonic flight\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Max Speed: Mach 1.8 \u2013 2.5.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It operates across a wide <\/span><b>altitude range <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from <\/span><b>100 meters to 10 kilometers,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with an <\/span><b>operational range of 55 to 175 kilometers.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With<\/span><b> flight times<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> spanning <\/span><b>50 to 200 seconds,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> it can<\/span><b> simulate various attack scenarios, flying as low as 12 feet <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">above water to <\/span><b>mimic modern sea-skimming missiles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or plunging from over 30,000 feet to replicate high-altitude attacks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
