text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Ho, or Kolha,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> people are an <\/span><b>Austroasiatic Munda ethnic group<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They call themselves the <\/span><b>Ho, Hodoko, and Horo, which mean \u2018human<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019 in their own language.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Distribution<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They are mostly <\/span><b>concentrated<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the <\/span><b>Kolhan region of Jharkhand and Odisha, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">where they constitute around 10.7% and 7.3% of the total Scheduled Tribe population, respectively, as of 2011.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ho also inhabit adjacent areas in the neighboring states of <\/span><b>Odisha, West Bengal, and Bihar.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They also live in <\/span><b>Bangladesh and Nepal.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Language<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Ho people speak the <\/span><b>Ho language<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an <\/span><b>Austroasiatic language <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">closely related to Mundari.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Occupation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: The <\/span><b>majority <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the Ho tribe is involved in <\/span><b>agriculture<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, either as landowners or labourers, while <\/span><b>others are engaged in mining.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>men and women<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of this community<\/span><b> wear very minimal dress. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The women prefer to wear tribal jewelleries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Women have higher status<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> among the Ho <\/span><b>than they do in most tribes.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Dance is very important<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Ho culture. <\/span><b>Most village<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s have a <\/span><b>dedicated dancing ground, called akhra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, usually consisting of a cleared space of hard ground under a spreading tree.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Traditional Ho music incorporates native <\/span><b>instruments, including a dama (drum), dholak, dumeng (mandar), and the rutu (flute).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Religion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The majority of the Ho have their <\/span><b>own nature-based religion (Sarnaism)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that doesn&#8217;t fit in with Hinduism.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
