River<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>right-bank tributary of the Brahmaputra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> River, <\/span><b>originating <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in <\/span><b>Tibet <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and flowing through <\/span><b>Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a<\/span><b> trans-Himalayan and antecedent river,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> meaning 400;\">After covering about 250 km in the<\/span><b> Eastern Himalayas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, it<\/span><b> descends into the Assam Valley <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at style=\"font-weight: 400;\">through the plains for about 86 km, <\/span><b>passing near Majuli<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014the <\/span><b>world\u2019s largest river island\u2014<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">before <\/span><b>merging with the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/brahmaputra-river-system\/\" target=\"_blank\">Brahmaputra River<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at Jamurighat in Lakhimpur district, <\/span><b>Assam<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <strong>l<\/strong><\/span><b>argest tributary of the Brahmaputra <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">River.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its <\/span><b>total length<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The river is fed by a<\/span><b> combination of snowmelt <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from its Tibetan headwaters and the <\/span><b>intense southwest monsoon
