


{"id":6503,"date":"2022-12-07T12:41:33","date_gmt":"2022-12-07T07:11:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=6503"},"modified":"2025-03-27T15:15:46","modified_gmt":"2025-03-27T09:45:46","slug":"india-development-report-released-by-world-bank","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/india-development-report-released-by-world-bank\/","title":{"rendered":"India Development Report released by World bank"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About India Development Report:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It was released by World Bank.<\/li>\n<li>India Development Report titled \u2018Navigating the Storm\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Highlights:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It revised the GDP forecast considering the strong upturn in the July to September quarter of 2022-23, when it grew <strong>3% <\/strong>despite inflationary pressures and tighter financing conditions, \u201cdriven by strong private consumption and investment\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>The government\u2019s focus on bolstering capital expenditure also supported domestic demand in the first half of 2022-23.<\/li>\n<li>It expects the Indian economy to <strong>grow at a slightly slower 6.6% in 2023-24<\/strong> as a challenging external environment and faltering global growth will affect its economic outlook through different channels.<\/li>\n<li>The report said that while a <strong>one percentage point decline in growth in the United States is associated with a 0.4 percentage point decline in India\u2019s growth<\/strong>, the effect is around 1.5 times larger for other emerging economies, and the result is similar for growth spillovers from the EU and China.<\/li>\n<li>It cautions about trade-offs between trying to limit the adverse impact of global spillovers on growth and the available policy space.<\/li>\n<li>The RBI\u2019s gradual withdrawal of liquidity and policy rate hikes have been aimed at anchoring inflation expectations.
