{"id":6611,"date":"2023-01-12T03:30:59","date_gmt":"2023-01-11T22:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=6611"},"modified":"2025-03-27T15:55:13","modified_gmt":"2025-03-27T10:25:13","slug":"what-is-national-mineral-exploration-trust-nmet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-is-national-mineral-exploration-trust-nmet\/","title":{"rendered":"What is National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET)?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>\u00a0<strong>About National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET):<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>NMET is a <strong>Trust set up as a non-profit body by the Central Government<\/strong> for the <strong>purposes of regional and detailed exploration of minerals <\/strong>using the funds accrued to it and in such manner as prescribed by the Central Government.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Act:<\/strong> The Mines and Minerals (Development &amp; Regulation) Amendment Act, 2015, (MMRDA) mandated the setting up of the NMET.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Structure<\/strong>: NMET has a two-tier structure.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>apex body <\/strong>is the Governing Body, <strong>chaired by the Hon\u2019ble Minister of Mines<\/strong>. It holds the overall control of the Trust.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Executive Committee<\/strong>, <strong>chaired by the Secretary, Ministry of Mines<\/strong>, administers and manages its activities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding<\/strong>: To implement mandated activities an <strong>NMET Fund<\/strong> has been established.
