{"id":66124,"date":"2025-10-02T11:44:31","date_gmt":"2025-10-02T06:14:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=66124"},"modified":"2025-10-03T16:41:49","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T11:11:49","slug":"mission-for-aatmanirbharta-in-pulses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/mission-for-aatmanirbharta-in-pulses\/","title":{"rendered":"Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Union Cabinet has approved the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is aimed at boosting domestic production and <\/span><b>achieving self-sufficiency<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Aatmanirbharta) <\/span><b>in pulses.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Time Period:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The Mission will be implemented over <\/span><b>a six-year period<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, from 2025-26 to 2030-31.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Key Features of Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Comprehensive strategy:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The mission covers research, seed systems, area expansion, procurement, and price stability.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Focus on quality seeds:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It focuses on developing and disseminating the latest varieties of pulses which are <\/span><b>high in productivity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>pest-resistant and climate-resilient<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Multi-location trials will be carried out in major pulse-growing states to ensure regional suitability.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Seed Production:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To ensure availability of premium quality seeds, <\/span><b>states will prepare five-year rolling seed production plans<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>breeder seed production<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be supervised by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foundation and certified seed production will be done by state and central level agencies, and closely tracked through the <\/span><b>Seed Authentication, Traceability &amp; Holistic Inventory<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SATHI) portal.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Capacity building: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Structured training programmes for <\/span><b>farmers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>seed growers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to promote sustainable techniques and modern technologies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Post-harvest infrastructure:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 To strengthen markets and value chains, the Mission will help develop <\/span><b>1000 processing units,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> thereby reducing crop losses, improving value addition.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A maximum <\/span><b>subsidy of Rs. 25 lakhs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be available for setting up of <\/span><b>processing, packaging units.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Cluster-Based Approach:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Tailoring interventions to the specific needs of each cluster to enhance productivity, and promote geographic diversification of pulse production.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Procurement:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Assured <\/span><b>maximum procurement of Tur, Urad, and Masoor under Price Support Scheme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (PSS) of <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pradhan-mantri-annadata-aay-sanrakshan-abhiyan-pm-aasha\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>PM-AASHA<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>NAFED and NCCF<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will undertake 100% procurement in participating <\/span><b>states for the next four <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">years from farmers who register with these agencies and enter into agreements.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, to safeguard farmer confidence, the Mission will establish a mechanism for <\/span><b>monitoring global pulse prices.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2173547\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses is aimed at boosting domestic production and achieving self-sufficiency (Aatmanirbharta) in pulses.
