aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a very popular tourist spot because it is <\/span><b>India&#8217;s only mud volcano<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It erupted recently in 2005 owing to the oceanic seismic shifts.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mud volcanoes in Baratang Islands are the only known volcanoes in the Indian sub-continent.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>also home to the Jarawa tribe,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> one of the indigenous tribes of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>What is Mud Volcano?<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mud volcanoes, also called <\/span><b>\u2018Mud Domes,\u2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are formed by the eruption of mud slurries, water, and gases <\/span><b>involving a series of geological processes.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike actual ingenious volcanoes, mud volcanoes <\/span><b>don\u2019t throw out lava when they erupt.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a geological formation where a <\/span><b>mixture of mud, water, and gases<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (mainly methane, sometimes carbon dioxide or nitrogen) erupts to the surface, creating cone-like structures that resemble true volcanoes without molten lava.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The sizes of mud volcanoes lie between one and two meters to 700 meters high and between one and two meters to 10 kilometers wide.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mud volcanoes <\/span><b>also exist on the floor of the
