commissioned at Karaikal, Puducherry.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Akshar Fast Patrol Vessel<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the second in a series of eight <\/span><b>Adamya-class Fast Patrol Vessels<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (FPVs).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The name \u2018Akshar\u2019 meaning \u2018imperishable\u2019, symbolises the ICG\u2019s steadfast resolve and commitment to ensuring safe, secure, and clean seas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been designed and <\/span><b>built indigenously by Goa Shipyard Limited and <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">contains over 60% indigenous content.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of Akshar Fast Patrol Vessel<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Capacity:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The ship displaces approx. <\/span><b>320 tons<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and is propelled by two 3,000 KW diesel engines, enabling a <\/span><b>maximum speed of 27 Knots.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has an endurance of 1,500 nautical miles at an economical speed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ICGS Akshar is fitted with indigenously developed two <\/span><b>Controllable Pitch Propellers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (CPP) and gearboxes, offering superior maneuverability, operational flexibility and enhanced performance at sea.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The vessel also features an <\/span><b>Integrated Bridge System<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (IBS), Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS), and Automated Power Management System (APMS), augmenting operational efficiency and automation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ship will be based <\/span><b>at Karaikal, Puducherry<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, under the administrative and operational control of Commander Coast Guard
