It is the <strong>only species in this family.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is a <strong>charismatic and uncommon wader<\/strong> <strong>seen in the Himalayas<\/strong> and foothills of India.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scientific Name: <\/strong><i><strong>bidorhyncha struthersii<\/strong><\/i><\/li>\n<li><strong>Distribution<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>They are common in <strong>Central Asia and the Himalayas<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>They are found in <strong>India, Pakistan, Afghanistan,<\/strong> Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, <strong>Turkmenistan, Tajikistan<\/strong>, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and <strong>China<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Habitat:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It lives at <strong>high altitudes near rivers.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>They exhibit <strong>altitudinal migration<\/strong>, <strong>breeding in the higher<\/strong> reaches of the <strong>mountains<\/strong> and <strong>descending to lower elevations during winters.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Features<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>It is a <strong>medium-sized wader<\/strong>, measuring <strong>38 to 42 cm in length<\/strong> and <strong>weighing 270 to 320 grams.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It has a <strong>long, downward curved and sharply-pointed pink bill<\/strong>; a <strong>grey body<\/strong>; a <strong>white belly with a black band on its chest<\/strong>; and <strong>a black face<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>sexes are similar<\/strong>, which makes this species monomorphic as well.<\/li>\n<li><strong>They are good swimmers.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Conservation Status:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>IUCN: Least Concern<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1)\u00a0What is a wader?<\/h3>\n<p>A wader is a bird with long legs and a long neck, which lives near water and feeds on fish.
