By doing so, they pumped large quantities of oxygen into the atmosphere of primaeval earth, allowing most other life to evolve and flourish.<\/li>\n<li>Jhamarkotra\u2019s <strong>fossils are phosphate-rich<\/strong> because the trapped sediments were mainly phosphate minerals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>About Zawar<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an interesting geo-heritage site that lies some 40 km south of Udaipur which is the world\u2019s <strong>oldest known zinc-smelting site.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The discovery here of earthen retorts \u2013 brinjal-shaped, long-necked vessels \u2013 is particularly significant: their presence here suggests Zawar had a unique zinc-smelting legacy.<\/li>\n<li>Zawar\u2019s zinc-smelting operations date back 2,000 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is are Stromatolites?<\/h3>\n<p>Stromatolites are layered mounds, columns, and sheet-like sedimentary rocks.
