even after treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Keratoconus<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>vision disorder<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that occurs <\/span><b>when the normally round cornea (the front part of the eye) becomes thin and irregular (cone) shaped.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This abnormal shape <\/span><b>prevents the light entering the eye from being focused correctly on the retina and causes distortion of vision.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keratoconus often starts when people are in their<\/span><b> late teens to early 20s.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The vision symptoms slowly get <\/span><b>worse over a period of about 10 to 20 years.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>often affects both eyes <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and can lead to very different vision between the two eyes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Symptoms can differ in each eye, and they can change over time.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Treatment and Prevention:\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is <\/span><b>no known prevention for keratoconus.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Early stages can be treated with glasses,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> but with progression of the disease into late childhood and early adulthood, <\/span><b>corneal
