{"id":69255,"date":"2025-10-16T13:26:34","date_gmt":"2025-10-16T07:56:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=69255"},"modified":"2025-10-16T13:26:34","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T07:56:34","slug":"lagocheilus-hayaomiyazakii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/lagocheilus-hayaomiyazakii\/","title":{"rendered":"Lagocheilus hayaomiyazakii"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Lagocheilus hayaomiyazakii Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Researchers from the Thackeray Wildlife Foundation recently discovered a new species of snail named Lagocheilus hayaomiyazakii, also known as Tilari hairy snail.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Lagocheilus hayaomiyazakii<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>new species of hairy snail.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was found in the <\/span><b>evergreen Tilari forest <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">region of Kolhapur district, <\/span><b>Maharashtra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is found in leafy thickets and rocks of forests in the<\/span><b> Western Ghats.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>named after Hayao Miyazaki,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><b>legendary Japanese animator, filmmaker<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and co-founder of Studio Ghibli, whose films beautifully capture the connection between humans and nature.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lagocheilus hayaomiyazakii is the <\/span><b>first record of the genus Lagocheilus from the northern Western Ghats<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, extending its known distribution range by 540 km north into the Indian Peninsula.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The habitat of these snails is very limited.
