{"id":69395,"date":"2025-10-17T11:46:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-17T06:16:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=69395"},"modified":"2025-10-17T15:01:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-17T09:31:07","slug":"in-rokn-exercise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/in-rokn-exercise\/","title":{"rendered":"IN-RoKN Exercise"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>IN-RoKN Exercise Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indian Naval Ship (INS) Sahyadri recently arrived at Busan Naval Harbour, South Korea, on 13 October 2025 to participate in the inaugural India\u2013Republic of Korea Navy (IN\u2013RoKN) Bilateral Exercise.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About IN-RoKN Exercise<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <\/span><b>Indian Navy (IN)\u2013Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN) bilateral naval exercise.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span><b> inaugural IN\u2013RoKN Exercise <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is taking place in South Korea.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will be conducted in <\/span><b>two phases\u2014harbour and sea<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014to deepen interoperability, enhance coordination, and promote professional exchanges between the two navies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of the harbour phase, IN and RoKN officials will engage in reciprocal cross-deck visits, sharing of best practices, cross-training sessions, and sport fixtures.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Commanding Officer of INS Sahyadri will also call on senior officers of the Republic of Korea Navy, local dignitaries, and representatives from the Indian community in South Korea, reaffirming India&#8217;s diplomatic goodwill and naval outreach.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The harbour phase will be followed by the sea phase, wherein, INS Sahyadri and ROKS Gyeongnam will undertake joint exercises.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Key Facts about INS Sahyadri<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commissioned in 2012, INS Sahyadri (F49) is the third ship of the <\/span><b>Shivalik Class of Guided Missile Stealth Frigates.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was designed and <\/span><b>built indigenously by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Mumbai.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Armed with advanced stealth features, state-of-the-art weapon systems, and cutting-edge sensors, INS Sahyadri can conduct multi-dimensional warfare operations\u2014surface, subsurface, and air\u2014making it a versatile asset for India&#8217;s blue-water naval ambitions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\">The frigate is <b style=\"font-size: inherit;\">based at Visakhapatnam<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, under the <\/span><b style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Eastern Fleet of the Eastern Naval Command.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source<\/b><strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devdiscourse.com\/article\/law-order\/3663443-ins-sahyadri-makes-port-call-at-busan-for-first-ever-india-south-korea-naval-exercise?amp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">DEVD<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IN-RoKN Exercise is the Indian Navy (IN)\u2013Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN) bilateral naval exercise.
