(e-NWR):<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>negotiable warehouse receipt (NWR) system<\/strong>\u00a0was launched in 2011 allowing the transfer of ownership of a commodity stored in a warehouse without having to deliver it physically.<\/li>\n<li>These receipts are issued in negotiable form, making them<strong>\u00a0eligible as collateral.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This has been enabled by enabling the financing of warehouse receipts through the Warehouse (Development and Regulation) Act, 2007.<\/li>\n<li>The Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA) regulates the entire operation under NWR.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Salient features of e-NWR:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>An e-NWR is available only in\u00a0<strong>electronic form.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The single source of information for the e-NWR is the\u00a0<strong>repository system where e-NWR is issued by registered warehouses.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Confidentiality, integrity and availability of the e-NWR information is provided by the Repository system.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>An e-NWR has\u00a0<strong>time validity.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>All e-NWRS can be traded through\u00a0<strong>off-market or on-market in Commodity Exchanges platforms.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>An e-NWR\u00a0<strong>can be auctioned<\/strong>\u00a0under certain conditions such as loan not repaid, on expiry and delivery not taken, and on likely damage or spoilage of the commodity in the warehouse.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>e-NWR can be transferred\u00a0<strong>fully or in part.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Benefits:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Electronic-Negotiable Warehouse Receipt (e-NWR) will help farmers\/FPOs to have access to a large number of buyers across the country.<\/li>\n<li>It will help them get better bargaining powers and realise higher prices by selling graded produce.<\/li>\n<li>It will provide them with the facility to get their prices quoted and receive immediate payment, besides avoiding distress sales by helping them get loans from banks against warehouse receipts.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA):<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>WDRA was constituted in 2010\u00a0under the Warehousing (Development and Regulation) Act, 2007.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It is under the\u00a0<strong>Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD).<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0<\/strong><a
