{"id":70081,"date":"2025-10-25T13:02:21","date_gmt":"2025-10-25T07:32:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=70081"},"modified":"2025-10-25T13:02:21","modified_gmt":"2025-10-25T07:32:21","slug":"network-survey-vehicle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/network-survey-vehicle\/","title":{"rendered":"Network Survey Vehicle"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>\u00a0Network Survey Vehicle Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has announced that it will deploy Network Survey Vehicles (NSVs) in 23 states.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Network Survey Vehicle<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>specialized infrastructure management tool<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> comprising vehicles equipped with advanced sensors and data acquisition systems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These vehicles systematically collect data on road inventory and condition of National Highways.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Working of Network Survey Vehicle<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is usually a specialised van or SUV <\/span><b>equipped with multiple sensors and instruments<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It consists of Laser, <\/span><b>Global Positioning System<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (GPS), Video image processing tools, High-resolution cameras, <\/span><b>Inertial Measurement Units<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (IMU), and DMI (Distance Measuring Indicator).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The survey will capture <\/span><b>13 types of defects,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> including crack measurement, ravelling, patch area, potholes, edge break, roughness, rutting, lane marking, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will also cover details like <\/span><b>carriageway type, road type, pavement <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and shoulder width, topography, median details, right of way, utilities, land use, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The data will be collected for all projects <\/span><b>involving 2\/4\/6 and 8 lanes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with NSV before the start of work and thereafter at <\/span><b>regular intervals of six months.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Data collected through NSV survey will be uploaded on <\/span><b>NHAI\u2019s \u2018AI\u2019 based portal Data Lake,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where it will be analysed to transform data into knowledge and subsequent actionable insights.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source<\/b><strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/explained\/nhai-network-survey-vehicles-10324365\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">IE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Network Survey Vehicle is a specialized infrastructure management tool comprising vehicles equipped with advanced sensors and data acquisition systems.
