{"id":7131,"date":"2023-04-03T10:19:30","date_gmt":"2023-04-03T04:49:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=7131"},"modified":"2025-03-28T17:28:42","modified_gmt":"2025-03-28T11:58:42","slug":"slinex-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/slinex-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"SLINEX &#8211; 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Exercise SLINEX &#8211; 2023:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Exercise SLINEX is an <strong>annual bilateral maritime exercise between Indian Navy and Sri Lanka Navy.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>SLINEX &#8211; 2023 is the 10th edition of the annual exercise.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>SLINEX-2023 will aim to <strong>enhance interoperability, improve mutual understanding<\/strong> and <strong>exchange best practices<\/strong> and procedures in multi-faceted Maritime operations between both Navies.<\/li>\n<li>The exercise is being c<strong>onducted in two phase<\/strong>s, the <strong>Harbour Phase<\/strong> followed by the <strong>Sea Phase.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Indian Navy will be represented by INS Kiltan <\/strong>(Advanced Anti Submarine Warfare Corvette) <strong>and INS Savitri<\/strong> (Offshore Patrol Vessel), while the Sri Lanka Navy will have SLNS Gajabahu (Advance Offshore Patrol Vessel) and SLNS Sagara (OPV) in the exercise.<\/li>\n<li>SLINEX is in consonance with <strong>India\u2019s policy of \u2018Neighbourhood First<\/strong>\u2019 and <strong>Prime Ministers&#8217; vision of \u2018Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR)\u2019.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1)\u00a0What is Exercise MILAN?<\/h3>\n<p>MILAN is a biennial multilateral naval exercise incepted by Indian Navy in 1995 at Andaman and Nicobar Command. Since its inception, the event has been held biennially except for 2001, 2005, 2016 and 2020.
