{"id":71622,"date":"2025-11-02T15:16:29","date_gmt":"2025-11-02T09:46:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=71622"},"modified":"2025-11-06T10:56:59","modified_gmt":"2025-11-06T05:26:59","slug":"alfven-waves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/alfven-waves\/","title":{"rendered":"Alfv\u00e9n Waves"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Alfv\u00e9n Waves Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Researchers have made a major advance in solar physics by capturing the first direct evidence of small-scale torsional Alfv\u00e9n waves in the Sun\u2019s outer atmosphere, known as the corona.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Alfv\u00e9n Waves<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alfven waves are <\/span><b>low-frequency<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, transverse electromagnetic waves that propagate along the <\/span><b>Sun\u2019s magnetic field lines.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>occurs in a plasma<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (or conducting fluid), resulting from the interaction of the magnetic fields and electric currents within it.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These waves <\/span><b>were first proposed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 1942 by Nobel Prize-winning <\/span><b>physicist Hannes Alfv\u00e9n, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are magnetic fluctuations that transfer energy through plasma.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Larger and <\/span><b>more sporadic Alfven waves<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> linked to solar flares have been detected before.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>What Researchers have found?<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The breakthrough was made possible by the unique capabilities of the <\/span><b>Daniel K.
