{"id":7215,"date":"2025-05-02T10:49:09","date_gmt":"2025-05-02T05:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=7215"},"modified":"2025-05-15T11:19:51","modified_gmt":"2025-05-15T05:49:51","slug":"vizhinjam-international-seaport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/vizhinjam-international-seaport\/","title":{"rendered":"Vizhinjam Port"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Vizhinjam Port Latest News<\/h2>\n<p>The Prime Minister will formally open the Vizhinjam International Seaport in Kerala, marking a major step in putting the southern state on the global maritime map.<\/p>\n<h2>About Vizhinjam Port<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Location<\/strong>: It is located at\u00a0<strong>Vizhinjam<\/strong>, a coastal town in Thiruvananthapuram District,\u00a0<strong>Kerala<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It is\u00a0<strong>India&#8217;s first dedicated transshipment port\u00a0<\/strong>and also the\u00a0<strong>country&#8217;s first semi-automated port.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Built at a cost of around Rs 8,900 crore under\u00a0<strong>public-private partnership (PPP)\u00a0<\/strong>mode<strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>the transshipment port is\u00a0<strong>operated by the Adani Group<\/strong>, with the\u00a0<strong>Kerala government holding the majority stake.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Features<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>breakwater\u00a0<\/strong>at Vizhinjam is the\u00a0<strong>deepest in India<\/strong>\u00a0and stretches nearly three kilometres.
