{"id":72230,"date":"2026-10-30T13:43:38","date_gmt":"2026-10-30T08:13:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=72230"},"modified":"2026-10-30T14:41:00","modified_gmt":"2026-10-30T09:11:00","slug":"national-cooperative-development-corporation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-cooperative-development-corporation\/","title":{"rendered":"National Cooperative Development Corporation"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>National Cooperative Development Corporation Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the 93rd Meeting of the General Council of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) was held at the Corporation&#8217;s headquarters in New Delhi.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About National Cooperative Development Corporation<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a statutory organisation <\/span><b>established in 1963,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the <\/span><b>Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Objective:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Promoting, strengthening and <\/span><b>developing farmer cooperatives<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for increasing production, productivity and instituting <\/span><b>post- harvest facilities across the country<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Functions of National Cooperative Development Corporation<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Promoting and strengthening farmer cooperatives:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It aims to increasing production, productivity by developing farmer cooperatives and instituting post-harvest facilities<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Postharvest Facilities:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It provides assistance for developing processing, storage, cold chain and marketing of agricultural produce and the supply of seeds, fertilizer and other agricultural inputs etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Financial Assistance:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It provides <\/span><b>financial assistance to the cooperative sector<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for their economic development and social upliftment through NCDC Sponsored schemes and various GoI schemes implemented by NCDC<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also supports income-generating cooperatives across various non-farm sectors such as weaker section activities which include dairy, livestock, handloom, sericulture etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Initiatives of National Cooperative Development Corporation<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Yuva Sahakar: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme aims at <\/span><b>encouraging newly formed cooperative<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> societies with new and\/ or innovative ideas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Ayushman Sahakar: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme has a comprehensive approach to cover hospitals, healthcare, medical education, nursing education, paramedical education, health insurance and holistic health systems such as AYUSH.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nandini Sahakar:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The scheme aims to improve the socio-economic status of women and supports the entrepreneurial dynamism of women through women\u2019s cooperatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Dairy Sahakar:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is a cooperative dairy business <\/span><b>focused framework of financial assistance for encouraging<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> cooperatives to achieve higher outcomes in ESG (environmental, social, governance) linked activities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Swayam Sahakar:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Scheme for providing NCDC&#8217;s financial assistance to Agricultural Credit Cooperatives for providing loan\/advances to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/self-help-groups\/\" target=\"_blank\">Women Self Help Groups (SHGs)<\/a><\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleaseDetail.aspx?PRID=2330122&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>National Cooperative Development Corporation is a statutory organisation established in 1963, under the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India.
