400;\"> for facilitating collaboration among the researchers in the <\/span><b>Bay of Bengal Region<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, for sustainable development of the blue economy by networking the researchers in the <\/span><b>BIMSTEC Member Countries.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Background:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It was first announced by the Prime Minister of India during the Colombo BIMSTEC Summit in 2022.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was countries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aligns with India\u2019s broader regional policy objectives under its <\/span><b>Neighbourhood First,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Act East, <\/span><b>Indo-Pacific and MAHASAGAR<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> strategies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It served as a milestone in <\/span><b>advancing regional cooperation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in marine
