


{"id":73421,"date":"2025-11-14T13:03:55","date_gmt":"2025-11-14T07:33:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=73421"},"modified":"2025-11-14T14:23:15","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T08:53:15","slug":"hydrogen-valley-innovation-clusters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/hydrogen-valley-innovation-clusters\/","title":{"rendered":"Hydrogen Valley Innovation Clusters"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Hydrogen Valley Innovation Clusters Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology announced that four Hydrogen Valley Innovation Clusters (HVICs) are being developed across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Hydrogen Valley Innovation Clusters<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These are being developed across the country to demonstrate the <\/span><b>full green hydrogen value chain<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 from production and storage to transport and utilization.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Funding:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Total investment of \u20b9485 crore.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The HVIC project is aimed at \u201cbuilding a <\/span><b>local hydrogen ecosystem<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by connecting supply and demand across sectors like transport, industry, and energy, while also fostering research, innovation, and skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These clusters were originally<\/span><b> conceptualized <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by the <\/span><b>Department of Science and Technology<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and now integrated under <\/span><b>National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These four Hydrogen Valleys are coming up in <\/span><b>Pune, Jodhpur, Bhubaneshwar and Kerala.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>What is Green Hydrogen?<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Green Hydrogen is<\/span><b> produced using renewable energy,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> such as solar or wind power, instead of fossil fuels.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this process water <\/span><b>is split into hydrogen and oxygen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through electrolysis, using electricity from solar panels or wind turbines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to standards notified by Govt of India, Hydrogen made this way is considered \u201cgreen\u201d if the total <\/span><b>emissions from the process are very low<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, not more than 2 kg of CO\u2082 equivalent for every 1 kg of Hydrogen produced.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Green Hydrogen can <\/span><b>also be produced by converting biomass<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (like agricultural waste) into hydrogen, as long as emissions remain below the same limit.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2189242\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hydrogen Valley Innovation Clusters are being developed across the country to demonstrate the full green hydrogen value chain \u2014 from production and storage to transport and utilization.
