400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>History and Origin:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It was <\/span><b>first identified in<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 1967 in the <\/span><b>German city of Marburg<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Cause: Marburg virus<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (MARV) and <\/span><b>Ravn virus<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (RAVV) of the species Orthomarburgvirus marburgense are the causative agents of Marburg virus disease (MVD).\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rousettus aegyptiacus, a <\/span><b>fruit bat<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the Pteropodidae family, is considered the <\/span><b>natural host of Marburg virus.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Transmission of Marburg Virus Disease<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It initially <\/span><b>transmitted from fruit bats<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Rousettus aegyptiacus) to humans.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It spread to other humans through direct contact with bodily fluids of infected individuals or contaminated surfaces.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Geographical spread:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Most outbreaks have occurred in <\/span><b>sub-Saharan Africa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including countries like Tanzania, Uganda, Angola, Ghana, Kenya, and Zimbabwe.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Symptoms of Marburg Virus Disease<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Early signs:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> High fever, severe headache, and malaise.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Advanced stage:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 It includes severe bleeding, liver failure, multi-organ dysfunction, shock, and death
