(L&amp;T) and BAE Systems recently bagged a contract from the Indian Army for supply of BvS10 Sindhu \u2013 a specialised all-terrain armoured vehicle, according to a regulatory filing.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About BvS10 Sindhu<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The BvS10 is a well-known <\/span><b>articulated all-terrain vehicle <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">used b<\/span><b>y several European militaries.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The BvS10 is <\/span><b>already in service<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with the armed forces of <\/span><b>Austria, France, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the <\/span><b>Netherlands, Sweden, Ukraine, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and the <\/span><b>United Kingdom.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s also on order for the <\/span><b>German Army <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and has been <\/span><b>selected for the US Army\u2019s Cold Weather All-Terrain Vehicle (CATV) program.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its <\/span><b>design allows for two connected vehicle sections <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that help it cross difficult terrain that conventional wheeled or tracked vehicles struggle with.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>BvS10 Sindhu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is an <\/span><b>upgraded variant of the BvS10<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with <\/span><b>adaptations tailored<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> specifically <\/span><b>for India\u2019s terrain and climate.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>L&amp;T will manufacture the BvS10 Sindhu at its Armoured Systems Complex in Hazira, Gujarat<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with technical and design <\/span><b>support from BAE Systems H\u00e4gglunds <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(a <\/span><b>Swedish <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">business unit of BAE Systems, focused on military ground vehicles), the <\/span><b>original manufacturer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the BvS10 platform.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Sindhu variant can be reconfigured for multiple purposes: troop transport, command post, ambulance, recovery, logistics, or even a weapons-armed version.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This flexibility is ideal for the Indian Army\u2019s diverse mission needs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s <\/span><b>customized for India\u2019s extreme terrain<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: high-altitude regions, deserts, marshlands, and flood-prone zones. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\">The vehicle is <b style=\"font-size: inherit;\">also amphibious,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> able to <\/span><b style=\"font-size: inherit;\">operate in water or flooded terrain.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/business\/Industry\/lt-to-produce-armoured-vehicle-bvs10-sindhu-for-indian-army-at-hazira-facility\/article70300383.ece\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">TH<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BvS10 Sindhu is an upgraded variant of the BvS10 with adaptations tailored specifically for India\u2019s terrain and climate.
