{"id":74430,"date":"2025-11-21T13:09:59","date_gmt":"2025-11-21T07:39:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=74430"},"modified":"2025-11-21T13:29:24","modified_gmt":"2025-11-21T07:59:24","slug":"west-seti-hydropower-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/west-seti-hydropower-project\/","title":{"rendered":"West Seti Hydropower Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>West Seti Hydropower Project Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nepal has extended the date for survey license for West Seti Hydropower Project being developed by NHPC and approved to work for a direct agreement for another by SJVN with an aim to facilitate Indian power companies to execute projects in the Himalayan nation.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About West Seti Hydropower Project<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is planned to be developed as a <\/span><b>750 MW<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> hydroelectric storage project on the <\/span><b>Seti River (a tributary of the Karnali River) in Nepal.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike typical run-of-river projects that generate power only based on river flow, West Seti is <\/span><b>designed as a storage hydropower project with a large reservoir.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This <\/span><b>allows water to be accumulated <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">during the monsoon wet season and enables steady <\/span><b>electricity generation throughout the year,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> including the dry months.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project is being <\/span><b>developed by India\u2019s National Hydro Power Corporation Ltd.
