It is <\/span><b>one of the largest man-made lakes in Asia.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <\/span><b>largest heart-shaped mark among the marks formed by 78 heart-shaped lakes <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>9 heart-shaped islands on the face of the earth.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>United Nations World Tourism Organisation <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has <\/span><b>named the lake \u201cHeart of the World\u201d.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>constructed <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in<\/span><b> 1562 AD during <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the reign of <\/span><b>Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>fourth ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The lake was <\/span><b>named after Hussain Shah Wali, the chief engineer <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who designed and supervised its construction.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is renowned for its <\/span><b>monolith of Lord Buddha t<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hat stands right in its <\/span><b>centre<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It has a height of 16 m and weighs almost 350 tonnes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It had been of significance in the early days since it <\/span><b>connected the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was<\/span><b> initially built to cater to the irrigation needs <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and other <\/span><b>water needs of the city.
