{"id":75181,"date":"2025-11-26T13:46:09","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T08:16:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=75181"},"modified":"2025-11-26T18:28:27","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T12:58:27","slug":"ningaloo-reef","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/ningaloo-reef\/","title":{"rendered":"Ningaloo Reef"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Ningaloo Reef Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A new survey finds nearly 70% of corals at UNESCO-listed Ningaloo Reef have died.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Ningaloo Reef<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is located on <\/span><b>Western Australia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;s remote coast along the East <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/indian-ocean\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Indian Ocean.<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>Australia\u2019s largest fringing coral reef,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> extending across 300 kilometres of coastline.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>one of the world\u2019s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> most <\/span><b>pristine, longest, and largest <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">coral reefs.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, it is<\/span><b> unusually narrow<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and covers an area of about 50 sq.km.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The reef sustains both temperate and tropical marine life, including mammals and reptiles.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has about<\/span><b> 250 corals, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of which 2<\/span><b>00 are hard coral species.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Besides corals, the reef hosts over 500 fish species.
