{"id":7527,"date":"2026-08-31T12:18:24","date_gmt":"2026-08-31T06:48:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=7527"},"modified":"2026-08-31T15:23:28","modified_gmt":"2026-08-31T09:53:28","slug":"malaria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/malaria\/","title":{"rendered":"Malaria"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Malaria Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the Union Health Ministry India recorded a nearly 80 per cent decline in malaria cases and deaths between 2015 and 2025, while the number of high-burden districts dropped sharply from 155 to 33,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Malaria<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a life-threatening febrile illness <\/span><b>caused by Plasmodium parasites.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Transmission:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is transmitted through the bites <\/span><b>of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>not contagious<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but can be spread through infected blood or contaminated needles.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Risk:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Infants, children under 5 years, pregnant women and girls, travellers and people with HIV or AIDS are at higher risk of severe infection.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Symptoms<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Symptoms appear <\/span><b>10\u201315 days after<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> infection and include fever, chills, and headache.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Severe symptoms can include <\/span><b>seizures, difficulty breathing, jaundice, dark urine, and death if untreated.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Treatments include<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ACTs (Artemisinin-based Combination Therapies) for P. falciparum.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chloroquine for P. vivax\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Primaquine to prevent relapses in P. vivax and P. ovale infections.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ddnews.gov.in\/en\/india-sees-nearly-80-pc-decline-in-malaria-cases-between-2015-2025-health-ministry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">DD News<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Malaria  is a life-threatening febrile illness caused by Plasmodium parasites.
