{"id":7539,"date":"2022-11-25T04:38:35","date_gmt":"2022-11-24T23:08:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=7539"},"modified":"2025-03-28T21:20:53","modified_gmt":"2025-03-28T15:50:53","slug":"the-national-centre-for-good-governance-ncgg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/the-national-centre-for-good-governance-ncgg\/","title":{"rendered":"The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG):<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What it is?<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an autonomous institute under the aegis of\u00a0<strong>Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The NCGG has been set up to assist in bringing about governance reforms through studies, training, knowledge sharing and promotion of good ideas.<\/li>\n<li>It seeks to carry out policy relevant research and prepare case studies; curate training courses for\u00a0<strong>civil servants from India and other developing countries.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Head office<\/strong>:\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li>Its head office is at\u00a0<strong>New Delhi<\/strong>\u00a0and branch office at Mussoorie.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objectives<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>To function as a national repository on information on best practices, initiatives and methodologies that promote Good Governance, e-Governance etc.<\/li>\n<li>To advise on key issues in governance and develop synergy across various Ministries\/ Departments of GoI, and State Governments;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Background\u00a0<\/strong>:\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li>NCGG traces its origin to the\u00a0<strong>National Institute of Administrative Research (NIAR).<\/strong>\u00a0NIAR was set up in 1995 by the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) the Government of India&#8217;s apex training Institute for higher civil services.
