Mission for Mentoring"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>National Mission for Mentoring Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has called on all higher educational institutions (HEIs) across India to nominate teaching faculty under the National Mission for Mentoring (NMM).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About National Mission for Mentoring<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the flagship<\/span><b> initiative<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the Department of School Education and Literacy, <\/span><b>Ministry of Education.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is in line with the <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/national-education-policy-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\">National Education Policy<\/a> (NEP) 2020.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It provides <\/span><b>platforms for professionals and experts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where they can share knowledge, skills and expertise as a Mentor with Mentee teachers and help them in their journey to become effective teachers.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>launched on 29th July 2022<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in selected <\/span><b>30 Central Schools<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (15 KVs, 10 JNVs, 5 CBSE) across the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aims to <\/span><b>create a supportive environment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, enhance mentorship experiences and contribute to individual and collective growth.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>National Council for Teacher Education<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NCTE) has been assigned to develop and design the modalities for National Mission for Mentoring (NMM).<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NCTE released a comprehensive <\/span><b>document on the mission<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><b>NMM \u2013 The Blue Book<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) with a detailed roadmap of its framework and implementation strategy.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Important stakeholders:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Mentor (the guide), Mentee (the teacher) and The Nodal officers\/administration<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Implementation strategy<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Pilot phase:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It was <\/span><b>first tested in 30 Central Schools<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (15 Kendriya Vidyalayas, 10 Jawahar Navodaya schools, and 5 CBSE schools) with 60 mentors, some even Padma Awardees.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Building capacity:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Seminars and workshops are conducted to <\/span><b>teach \u201cMaster Mentors\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who can subsequently teach others.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Incentivisation: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although participation is voluntary, the NMM manual encourages participants to do so with <\/span><b>certificates, performance credits and other incentives.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:
