from the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About MH-60R Seahawk<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a state-of-the-art <\/span><b>multi-mission<\/b> <b>naval helicopter.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Often called the \u201c<\/span><b>Romeo,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d it is manufactured by <\/span><b>US defence major Lockheed Martin.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an <\/span><b>all-weather<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> helicopter designed for <\/span><b>anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASuW), <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">maritime surveillance, <\/span><b>search and rescue, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">medical evacuation, and <\/span><b>shipborne operations.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <\/span><b>U.S. Navy&#8217;s primary<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> anti-submarine and surface warfare helicopter.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Besides the United States, the platform is operated by countries including <\/span><b>India, Australia, Japan, South Korea,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Israel, Greece, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, and Brazil.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>India signed a deal<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with the United States to <\/span><b>procure 24 MH-60R<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Seahawk helicopters in 2020 as part of efforts to modernise the Indian Navy&#8217;s helicopter fleet.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>MH-60R Seahawk <\/b><b>Features<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It measures 19.5 m (63.9 ft) in length with a height of 5.18 m.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The helicopter can carry a <\/span><b>crew of three to four personnel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, accommodate <\/span><b>five additional passengers,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> lift nearly 3,000 kg of payload, attain a top speed of about 330 kmph and has an <\/span><b>operational range <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of around<\/span><b> 830 km.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It can<\/span><b> endure airborne<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for up to<\/span><b> 2.7 hours<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when deployed in <\/span><b>undersea warfare missions <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and up to <\/span><b>3.3 hours<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in <\/span><b>surface warfare operations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is one of the <\/span><b>world\u2019s best submarine-hunting helicopters<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, equipped with <\/span><b>advanced sensors<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> like the <\/span><b>AN\/AQS-22 ALFS dipping sonar, sonobuoys<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and multi-mode radar.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The cockpit is also fitted with a <\/span><b>global positioning system<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an inertial navigation system, a satellite communication system, and secure VHF\/UHF communications.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It can be armed with <\/span><b>Mk 54 lightweight torpedoes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for anti-submarine warfare missions.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For surface warfare missions, the MH-60R can carry
